Almost nothing leaves your phone.

What stays on your device

All of the following is stored on your phone and is never sent to us or anyone else:

• Your routines, their steps, and how long each step takes
• Which steps you finished, and on which days
• Your fireflies, your sealed months, and the days you showed up
• Momo’s name and glow, your sound setting, and your reminder times
• The name you optionally give yourself in the app

If you delete Momo, this goes with it. We have no copy and cannot restore it.

What we do collect

An anonymous account

When you first open Momo it creates an anonymous account with Firebase Authentication. This is a random identifier. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or device, and exists so that a future paid version has something to attach to without asking you to sign up.

If you sign in with Apple or Google

Only if you choose to. We then receive, and store on that account, your name, email address and profile photo as your provider gives them to us. This buys exactly one thing: your jar surviving a new phone. If you sign in with Apple and use Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address Apple gives us.

Feedback you send

If you use “Tell us something” in the You tab, we receive what you typed, the category you picked if you picked one, your anonymous account identifier so we can reply, and the app version and platform so we can make sense of it. Nothing is sent unless you tap send.

Anonymous usage counts

So we can tell whether Momo actually works for people, the app reports a short list of things that happened: that a routine was started, that a step was finished or skipped, that a routine was completed, that a milestone was reached, that reminders were turned on or off. These go to PostHog, our analytics provider.

What is sent is counts and plain flags — never anything you wrote. Your routine titles, your step labels, the name you gave Momo, the name you gave yourself and anything you typed into feedback are not included and never leave your device. The identifier PostHog uses is its own random one; it is deliberately not joined to your Momo account, so your usage and your identity are not connected on our side.

You can turn this off: You → Anonymous usage. It stops immediately and clears what is waiting to be sent.

Technical necessities

• Firebase gives your installation an identifier so the app can fetch configuration, such as the minimum supported version.
• The app checks a file on this website to know whether it is too old to run. Our web host records the usual server log information, including your IP address, for that request.

What we do not collect

• No advertising, no tracking, no third-party trackers. Nothing here follows you anywhere.
• No screen recording, no heatmaps, no autocapture. We do not record your session or capture taps. Every measurement we take is one we wrote down deliberately, listed above.
• No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The app never asks for them.
• No health data. Momo is not connected to Apple Health or Google Fit.
• No push notifications. Reminders are scheduled by your phone, on your phone. We do not have a device token and cannot send you anything.
• No selling or sharing. We do not sell your data and never will.

Who else is involved

We use Google Firebase for the anonymous account, sign-in, remote configuration, and storing feedback. Google processes that data on our behalf. Their handling is covered by the Firebase privacy documentation.

We use PostHog for the anonymous usage counts described above, and only those.

If you sign in, Apple or Google handles that sign-in under their own privacy policies.

That is the complete list. There is no one else.

Your choices

• Don’t sign in. Momo works completely without it. Everything stays on your phone.
• Delete your account. You → Delete account. This removes the account and anything attached to it. Your routines and fireflies are on your phone and are untouched.
• Turn off usage counts. You → Anonymous usage. Everything else in the app carries on working exactly the same.
• Delete the app. That removes everything stored on your device.
• Ask us. Write to us and we will tell you what we hold, correct it, or delete it.

Feedback you have already sent stays with us so we can act on it. Ask and we will delete it.

Children

Momo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, we will say so in the app before it takes effect — not quietly, and not after the fact.
