Common questions
How do I write my letters?
One letter per box, the way you normally write it, sitting on the solid line. Lowercase, then capitals, numbers, punctuation, accent marks, and lowercase once more so your text looks naturally varied. You can skip a page and come back; a skipped letter shows in the regular font.
How do I install my font?
On the Build screen, tap Install font. Safari opens and asks to download a profile: tap Allow. Then open Settings, tap Profile Downloaded at the top, and tap Install. iOS calls the profile "unsigned" because it was made on your device, not by a company; that is expected.
My font doesn't show up in an app
Notes, Pages, Keynote, GoodNotes and Word list installed fonts in their font menu. Canva and Cricut Design Space don't read fonts installed on an iPhone: share the TTF to a Mac or PC and install it there, or upload it to Canva.
Can I send messages in my handwriting?
Messages can't show a custom font on the other person's phone, so no app can do this with a real font. Use your font in Notes, Pages, GoodNotes or Word, where it works.
A letter looks wrong
Open the font from the list, go back to the page with that letter and write it again. In Preview, the Neat–Natural control tidies up baselines and sizes.
How do I remove a font?
Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → the Ownhand profile → Remove Profile. To delete it from the app too, swipe it in the font list.
Does it cost anything?
No. Ownhand is free: no ads, no account, no subscription.
